Kim Kardashian managed to start a new trend, but it wasn’t intentional, Page Six reported. Near the start of the week, the reality star was put on blast amid her 40th birthday party which featured her and her family and friends flying to a private island in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

On Tuesday, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum wrote that after “two weeks of multiple health screens” and quarantining, she decided to take her inner circle to a private island where they could pretend things were back to the way they used to be.

It didn’t take long for many publications and outlets to start making fun of Kim and her family’s luxurious lifestyle. Social media users have argued it’s not a great time to brag considering what’s going on in the world currently. For instance, Zach Braff poked fun at Kim with a picture of Billy McFarland and Ja Rule.

Additionally, Jake Tapper, the CNN anchor, posted Kim’s quote alongside a Brady Bunch gif in which the characters were dancing around with hula outfits on. Netflix did the same thing as well but with images of Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo from Shutter Island.

The social media account for The Hunger Games participated in the trolling too, but with a photo from the movie’s cast. The list of celebrities and entertainers who did the same thing goes on and on, including Ronan Farrow, the journalist, who posted “The Garden of Earthly Delights” painting.

As it was previously reported, Kim Kardashian and the rest of her family members went to a private island to celebrate the reality star’s birthday. Even though people began putting her on blast on social media, it didn’t stop Kim from posting that it was the “best trip ever.”

Additionally, on Wednesday, Kim shared a photo in which she and Kourtney and Khloe were hanging out. She wrote that “girls just wanna have fun,” referencing the classic Cyndi Lauper song. This wouldn’t be the first time a celeb was criticized for a “tone-deaf” social media post.
