On Friday May 31st, American Country Music superstar Thomas Rhett will release his much anticipated fourth studio album ‘Center Point Road‘ via Big Machine Label Group. Here at CelebMix we are delighted to have been given an early listen to the record ahead of its official release date at the end of the month.
The LP kicks off with ‘Up’ which is a funky, toe-tapping track that is the perfect opener for the CD. Rhett’s strong vocal tone really shines on this one and the bouncy chorus and uplifting lyrics mean it will surely become a major fan favourite and concert goers are going to love this when it’s played live.
‘Don’t Threaten Me With A Good Time’ featuring fellow Country stars Little Big Town is next and it continues the up-beat vibe. If you’re looking for the ultimate summer party song then this one is for you. With it’s Lady Antebellum vibes it has radio hit written all over it.
The third song on the album is ‘Blessed’ which takes the ‘Center Point Road’ album into new avenues thanks to its slow jam, acoustic style. Thomas Rhett is one of the most talented vocalists on the scene right now and this stunning track shines a light on his tone and this is a real standout on the CD.
Hit single ‘Look What God Gave Her’ is next on the tracklist. This is another uptempo one that drives the record into new territory thanks to its pop undertones. But while the production is funk based the lyrics tell a beautiful, heartfelt story of faith and true love and showcase Rhett’s incredible songwriting talents.
At number 5 is the LP’s title track and it features Country hitmaker Kelsea Ballerini. This is a sweet Country production and it builds to a rousing sing-a-long chorus. Together Kelsea and Thomas create a timeless, modern day classic. This is a major standout on the album.
Up next is ‘That Old Truck’. This is gorgeous guitar led ballad that takes Thomas Rhett back to his old-school Country roots. The shift in sonic styles allows for the record to breathe and breathes new life into it making sure it never stands still. Lyrically this is a poignant coming of age story.
Number 7 is the funked up ‘VHS’. Few artists combine a pop/funk beat with Country lyrics quite like Thomas and this one is going to become a festival favourite thanks to its majorly infectious sing-a-long chorus and catchy verses.
At number 8 is ‘Notice’ which is a slow paced ballad that leads the album into slower territory. Vocally this is one of the strongest on the CD. Rhett really knows how to deliver a heartfelt ballad that strikes you right in the heart.
‘Sand’ comes next and once again the sonic sound makes a turn around making sure the tracklist stays fresh and exciting. This one is all about wanting to take break from the everyday and will no doubt strike a chord with listeners across the world.
At number 10 Rhett teams up with Jon Pardi for ‘Beer Can’t Fix’. This is a really fun one and it makes you yearn for a summer road trip. This one is going to be getting blasted by listeners all across the world. It has that carefree vibe, so roll your windows down and turn the volume up.
Next comes ‘Things You Do For Love’. This track is a super sweet, piano driven heartfelt slow jam that shines a light on the rich vocal tone Rhett possesses. This is one of the major standouts on an album that effortlessly incorporates many genre styles with ease.
‘Remember You Young’ comes next and once again the piano is heavily featured making it a poignant track that sounds like a little slice of Heaven. Sonically and lyrically this is one of the strongest on the CD. It’s a truly breathtaking song that elevates the whole record to new levels.
‘Don’t Stop Drivin’ is at number 13 and is driven by soulful hand-claps, mixed with Country undertones and pop production. It’s a really fun one and once again the record shifts and brings new sonic styles and sounds to take into new avenues.
‘Barefoot’ comes next and again Thomas Rhett ensures the CD never stands still. Taking things down a notch this one allows the album time to breathe and builds to an insanely catchy chorus that will become the soundtrack to your summer this year.
The penultimate song is ‘Dream You Never Had’ which is a stunning slow-jam that gives listeners a new vibe and showcases the soaring vocals of Rhett. It’s all about thanking his wife for being by his side when he pursues his musical career and it’s truly beautiful.
‘Center Point Road’ closes out with ‘Almost’ which is a straight up Country track that features on the storytelling aspect and gives listeners an insight into the early years of what Thomas went through while chasing his dreams.
