On tonight’s American Idol season 6 episode 12 as per the ABC synopsis,“The Top 20 contestants perform LIVE, with overnight voting results revealing 10 Idol hopefuls who will continue. Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie will choose two singers to round out the Top 12 competing to be the next American Idol.”

Tonight’s American Idol episode beings with another night of music and results. The judges are back, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. Ryan says after over 28 million votes came in the top 20 are waiting for the results. There will be a huge cut tonight as eight people are going home.

We Ani is called to the stage, she starts the show as the first member of the top 12. She is singing, “This Is Me,” from The Greatest Showman, then she heads to the victory zone.

The next result comes right away, Michael Williams is called up and he is not in the top 12, he has to sing for his survival. He is singing, “Golden Hour,” by JVKE. Katy says that was a cool current song, and people didn’t vote for him because they were jealous of him. Michael takes a seat in the danger zone.

Next on stage is Hannah Nicoliasen and she is not in the top 12 and will sing for her survival. She is singing, “Royal,” by Lorde. Lionel says she is number one in the dress code, right song, right energy, her personality was shining through and she is a star. Hannah goes to sit in the danger zone.

Next to hear their fate tonight is Warren Peay, he is in the top 12 and he is singing, “It’s Not My Time,” 3 Doors Down,” then he sits in the victory zone.

Another result, Mariah Faith joins Ryan on the stage, she is not in the top 12. She is performing, “If It Hadn’t Been For Love,” by The Steeldrivers.

Next result, Hayven Madison is in the top 12 and she is singing her original, “15.”

Next to join Ryan centre stage is Nailyah Serenity and she is not in the top 12. She is singing, “Alive,” by Sia. Katy says she brings the soul to this show, those notes, up and down and how she climbs that ladder. She is grateful and says Nailyah has a got this, she is a true star. Nailyah goes to sit in the danger zone.

Ryan announces that the lucky top 12 will be heading on an exclusive VIP trip to Stagecoach music festival in California and to top it off they will be front and centre to see Luke Bryan on Friday night.

Paige Anne is called to centre stage, she is not in the top 12 and has to sing for her life in the competition. She is singing, “I Am Here,” by P!nk. Lionel says that is what he calls that is how you fight back, she went to the front of the class and punched it.

Another fate to be revealed, Matt Wilson joins Ryan, he is in the danger zone. Matt is singing, “For Tonight,” by Giveon. Luke says he is sorry that he is in this spot, great job and they heard him do that song before, he does it so well and he loves the smoothness of his voice, great job.

Next is Tyson Venegas to go on centre stage and find out that he is in the top 12. Tyson is singing, “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me,” by Elton John.

More results, Colin Stough is next and he looks very nervous, he is in the top 12. Colin is singing an intimate vision of “Dancing On My Own,” by Robyn.
Luke is so excited, jumping up and down, he runs on stage and hugs Colin. Katy says one moment can change your life and that was it.

The next person to find out their fate is Marybeth Byrd and she is in the top 12. Marybeth is singing “Cover me Up,” by Jason Isabel, then goes to sit in the victory zone.

Another result, Kya Monee is center stage and she finds out that she is not in the top 12, she needs to sing for survival. Kya is singing, “If I Were Your Woman,” by Gladys Knight & The Pips. Katy says A+ tonight and she hopes fans vote for her if she has another chance to sing. Kya got to the danger zone.

Oliver Steele is up next, he is in the top 12. Oliver is singing, “You’re Still The One,” by Shania Twain. Oliver says he keeps second guessing himself and he needs to stop it, he heads to the victory zone.

Olivia Soli joins Ryan and finds out that she is not in the top 12, she has to sing for her life. Olivia sings “God Is A Woman,” by Ariana Grande. Luke says great jobs, one of the biggest voices he has heard in six years on Idol, great performance. Olivia goes to the danger zone.

Iam Tongi is excited to sing, he is in the top 12. Iam is singing, “Stuck On You,” by Lionel Richie. Lionel goes up on stage and gives Iam a big hug. Lionel says he killed it and Yam goes to the victory zone.

Only two more slots in the victory zone and Zachariah Smith is next, he is in the top 12. Zachariah is singing, “Hold The Line,” by Toto. Lionel is loving it, he stands up for the whole performance. Zachariah heads to the victory zone.

Lucy Love is next and she finds out her fate, she is not in the top 12. Lucy is singing, “Radioactive,” by Imagine Dragons. Lionel says if he had to bet on anybody, he would bet on her.

Down to the final two, Megan Danielle and Nutsa. One will head to the victory zone and one will sing for their lives. The person taking a spot in the top 12 is Megan Danielle. Megan is singing, “Thank God I Do,” by Laure Daigle.

Nutsa has to sing for her life, she sings “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” from Dreamgirls. Luke says grey job, he cannot imagine the pressure she was under and she knocked that out of the park, so inspiring. Nutsa heads to the danger zone.

In no particular order the judges have to name who they have chosen to stay in the competition, they get two votes. Lionel says Lucy love is going through.

Katy and Luke will say who takes the final spot in the top 12. The final singer is Nutsa.

Leaving the competition are Michael Williams, Hannah Nicolaisen, Mariah Faith, Nailyah Serenity, Paige Anne, Matt Willson, Kawyra and Olivia Soli.
