Candice Bergen made the Golden Globes a family affair as she walked the Red Carpet with her daughter Chloe Malle. Bergen was nominated in the  Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy category for her return to Murphy Brown. Though she didn’t pick up the statute, Bergen proved she is still a powerful actress and force to be reckoned with.

While many people remain confused about Murphy Brown’s status, show creator Diane English has set the record straight on Twitter. There have been 11 seasons of Murphy Brown with the reboot on CBS in 2018. The show was only set for 13 episodes and those have finished with the Dec. 20, 2018, finale.

The show was never officially canceled as it was only picked up for the 13 episodes. Due to the fact the show was not canceled, many fans are hitting social media demanding CBS return Murphy Brown for the 12th season.

For fans who feared the show had met its demise, this comes as great news. We’ve seen in past years with the onset of Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix as well as broadcast studio networks that fan power can truly save any show.

The Mindy Project, Lucifer, Timeless, Sense 8, The Killing, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Nashville, and Family Guy are just a few examples of shows fans saved.

Now that fans are voicing their opinions and asking CBS to renew Murphy Brown for a 12th season, it’s too early to state the show has been canceled or won’t return.

Murphy Brown also picked up a Screen Actors Guild nomination in addition to Candice Bergen’s impressive Golden Globe nomination.

Candice Bergen has been doing well with the return of Murphy Brown and several successful films.

The 2017 movie Home Again did well at the box office and the 2017 Netflix film, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), won four of the 11 awards it was nominated for.

The 2018 film Book Club had a 10 million budget and grossed 93 million worldwide. The movie also picked up a nomination.
