Declaring “The Image is an energy, not an entity,” the masked electro-trap duo The Image introduces their new music video, “Believe In Me.”

Made up of Watrcup and Franskiiz, the Los Angeles-based twosome merges their respective talents to generate infectious musical brews. Watrcup, whose background in journalism makes him the lyricist, is complemented by Franskiiz, a classically trained musician, who creates rhythms and melodies to accompany the lyrics.

Watrcup explains the interaction, saying, “We both contribute something different and personal. I bring the ideas and inspiration, and Franskiiz brings the life, musically. I’ll create a spark, and he’ll make it a fire.

Last year, The Image released two singles, “Who Are You” and “Fine,” with both collecting hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify. With their masked visages, the pair of artists focus attention on the music, allowing listeners to assess their sound rather than returning a verdict based on the artists’ appearance, akin to Slipknot and Mushroomhead, only without the dark implications.

As artists, The Image made a conscious decision to utilize their gifts to motivate and inspire listeners, transcending stoic resignation to negativity with glimmers of hope and anticipation.

The video depicts a little girl lying on her back on her front lawn, playing with her toys. When her mother calls her into the house, she reluctantly leaves her imaginative make-believe world. Mother and daughter travel to the grocery store, with the girl taking her toys along. While shopping at the store, as mom talks on her phone, the girl returns to her imagination, seeing the toys dancing atop the shelves. They take her to a fantasy land where she discovers a bag full of money. They leave the store. Outside, she comes across The Image, the personification of her toys, who introduce her to another enchanted vision of a dollar bill streaming behind an animated airplane. The message is this: if you believe, magic can become reality.

“Believe In Me” opens on classical-flavored synths, low-slung and richly colored, topped by a delicious falsetto. The melody flows into an innovative electro-trap rhythm, as swirling tones weave overhead. The shift in vocal tones, from the luscious falsetto to a velvety melodic tenor infuses the lyrics with a duality of luxurious textures, along with scrumptious layers of harmonies, suffusing the tune with radiant dimension.

The Image has it going on! Gleaming shimmers of coloration amalgamated with the percolating electro-trap rhythm gives the song both allure and buoyancy.
