The Script is playing a series of intimate gigs this week to celebrate the release of their latest chart-topping album, Sunsets and Full Moons. We were lucky enough to be able to go see the band perform at The Przym in Kingston.

The Last Time singers did two 45 minute sets, both times the venue was packed but as tickets were very reasonably priced between £16- £20, how could they not be?

The Script are a band that thrives off the banter and connection they have with their fans at shows. They are equally as at home playing to big arenas and stadiums as they are doing small intimate sets like this.

As lead singer, Danny told the crowd “We started in venues like this. We love them, as you can see the whites of everyone’s eyes.” Seeing the band in venues like this is something extra special.

Songs that have emotional meaning like their classic Man Who Can’t Be Moved and their new track Run Through Walls, that sweep the listener up in an emotional wave as they play, captures the audience more when played in a venue so small, hairs stand up more on the back of your arms and the atmosphere is just electrical, of people getting lost in the music the band are playing.

The setlist for the gig was a great mix of classic songs from the bands extensive back catalogue including Breakeven, For The First Time and Superheroes.

As well some songs off their new album including Something Unreal, which they opened with and set the tone for the show and the beautiful If You Don’t Love Yourself, a song which has amassed over 1 million views on Youtube and the highly emotive Run Through Walls.

The show was The Script at their best, doing what they love, playing their music to their fans who love seeing them live, clearly as much as the band love to perform, if the crowd’s reactions last night were anything to go by.

The Script will be heading out on a huge UK/Ireland and Europan tour next year, you can get tickets and all the info here.

Let us know if you love going to see The Script live as much as we do at @CelebMix!
