The body of an 18-year-old woman has been found inside a burned down house, with another woman taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to reports of a house on fire in Angle Park, northwest of Adelaide, just before 2.30pm on Friday.

Fourteen firefighters from the Metropolitan Fire Service were on the scene tackling the blaze, along with three vehicles and a command truck.

A 19-year-old who lives at the home was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A second teen, believed to be an 18-year-old from Prospect who is known to the first woman, was found dead inside.

Neighbours reportedly heard screams for help within the house, and rushed over to help, with some trying to put out the blaze with a hose.

One witness told Channel 10 News they believed the two were sisters.

“She was screaming ‘my sister’s in there, get here out’,” a neighbour said.

Police said forensic identification will be made in the next few days, but the woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious.

They are not seeking to speak to any other people over the matter.

A report will be made for the coroner.

Anyone with information or may have witnessed suspicious activity at the home is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
